If you are new to HBCU homecomings or it's been 5 or more years since you've attended this post is for you. As much as I love homecoming, it's hits a little different after 40. But I'm putting out a list of things to keep in mind to prepare and set your expectations to survive your HBCU homecoming experience.
If you're looking for a spot with great food, great bubbly, beautiful people and great people watching head to a'Bouzy.
I'm hoping that the list will give you some ideas on items to request for yourself or give you a starting point for someone who said, "Oh, it doesn't matter, whatever you get me is fine." I think the items would be great collectively in a custom gift basket for the girl who wants to just chill.
One of my buddies Vern mentioned doing brunch the previous evening and to call him Saturday morning so we can get all of our nutrients in before this sun fest of libations and college fun at the pool party. Well, duh, of course my partner in crime(not in real life crime) Deidra and I were up to brunch. We called Saturday morning, left a voice mail, "VERN--IT'S B..BRUNCH!" He immediately called back, said, "Let's meet at Ida Claire's--meet you all at 10:30."
